Dr. Mary Beckerle has served as Chief Executive Officer of Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah since 2006. Under Beckerle's leadership, HCI has been recognized with the highest designation for research excellence by the National Cancer Institute, has been named a top cancer hospital by US News and World Report, Newsweek, Beckers, and Web MD; and with the help of Huntsman Cancer Foundation and many donors, Huntsman Cancer Institute has doubled the size of its hospital and research facilities. Dr. Beckerle wasted no time in filling these facilities with the best and the brightest clinicians and scientists working to advance our understanding of cancer, develop new treatments, increase education, expand access, and deliver groundbreaking and compassionate patient care. Dr. Beckerle's ability to unite and recruit partners in the fight to defeat cancer has helped to position Huntsman Cancer Institute as a leading center for cancer research and treatment.
