[Quantum] Announcing a New Chapter: SSQ (Silicon Slopes Quantum)

Welcome to the next frontier of Utah tech. I am incredibly proud to announce the launch of SSQ (Silicon Slopes Quantum).

As a resident of Utah County for ~ three decades, I have watched our ecosystem become known worldwide for enterprise SaaS and data infrastructure. But the next wave of computing has arrived. To ensure Silicon Slopes remains a premier innovation hub for the next decade(s), we are officially establishing the SSQ chapter. This initiative exists because I am absolutely convinced that quantum technologies will fundamentally reshape our industry.

As approved by @Clint Betts, I am truly honored to lead the Silicon Slopes Quantum community into this new era.

My mission for SSQ is straightforward: we are going to demystify quantum technologies. While the underlying physics is complex, our focus will be on "Quantonomy." This means exploring the practical application of quantum sensing, networking, computing, and the broader quantum economy for local founders and engineers.

My background sits at this exact intersection. I began my career in Electrical Engineering before spending over 30 years leading enterprise information management on a global scale. 

Today, I am the CEO of the Lehi based firm BODEX, which is dedicated to AI first data. Oct-25, I launched UTahQuantum and began co-hosting the Entangled.Show to further explore these concepts. Through these initiatives, my career has naturally evolved toward teaching and coaching. That educator mindset is precisely how I plan to lead this chapter.

We believe that great communities are built by many voices, not just one. We are designing SSQ to be radically inclusive. Our goal is to create an environment where absolutely no advanced math degree or PhD is required to participate.
