New to Silicon Slopes, and glad to be here

Hi everyone, I'm Scott Landis. I grew up in Perth, Australia, and I've lived in Lehi for years now. Earlier this year I started Amerilia People Solutions, an HR advisory firm that helps CEOs and leadership teams with the people side of growing a company.

Before this I spent 20+ years in HR at PepsiCo, Rio Tinto, Republic Services and Aptive. At Aptive I was Chief People Officer while we grew to more than 5,000 employees. Along the way I picked up a lot of lessons I'd happily pass on so someone else doesn't have to learn them the hard way.

I'd love to meet anyone here, and especially:

- Founders and CEOs going through a stretch of fast growth, where the people side is taking more of their time than they expected

- Owners of family-run or founder-led businesses that are starting to outgrow the way they've always done things

- Employment attorneys, CPAs and other advisors who'd like a trusted HR partner to refer clients to

And if you're early in your journey and just want a sounding board, my door is open. Maybe you're about to make your first hire and aren't sure how to structure the offer, or you've got a manager who's great at the work but struggling to lead people. Maybe something just feels off with the team and you can't put your finger on it. Those are the conversations I enjoy most, and a quick chat early can save a lot of pain later.
