FamilyLink Ranked Second Most Popular Genealogy Site
FamilyLink Makes Largest Gain in Rankings on ProGenealogists' 50 Most Popular Genealogy Websites
PROVO, Utah--(BUSINESS WIRE)--FamilyLink (www.familylink.com), the largest family social network with more than 70 million users and 1.5 billion genealogy records, was named the second most popular genealogy site in ProGenealogists’ 50 Most Popular Genealogy Websites for 2010.
Not listed in the top 50 for the past two years, FamilyLink made the most significant growth in 2010 of all companies listed in this year’s top 50. Rising from 80th place in 2009 and 72nd place in 2008, FamilyLink secured second place based on the popularity of genealogy websites measured by four major ranking companies, Alexa.com, Compete.com, QuantCast.com and Ranking.com.
Rankings between the four companies vary based on the combination of the number of visitors, number of pages visited and the time spent on a website. Metrics are then used to create an overall ranking based on the average of all of the findings.
“This recognition is an honor, and the increased number of individuals who are visiting and utilizing our site is a clear indication that they are finding value in the resources we provide,” said Paul Allen, CEO of FamilyLink. “Our goal is to reach more families and enable them to not only connect with one another, but to provide them with information about their family history they may not have previously known about. Through the increased awareness we are garnering, we are achieving that goal.”
