Camping

With over 7,000 improved campsites and virtually unlimited primitive camping, few states can compete with the variety of camping opportunities found in Utah. Highlights include alpine camping in the Uinta highlands or one of the many other high mountain ranges; desert camping among the cacti and Manzanita brush of Utah's red rock country; boat camping on Lake Powell, Flaming Gorge, or one of the many other lakes and reservoirs; primitive camping in a wilderness area, or a more civilized expereince at one of the state's national parks, national forests or state parks.

Boating

For a state with vast stretches of desert, surprisingly, Utah has over 100 lakes and reservoirs that are considered boatable. In fact, Utah is ranked sixth in the U.S. for amount of boatable water per capita. Not bad for the second driest state in the nation.

Biking

Beautiful scenery, diverse terrain, and shear number of trails make Utah a biker's dream. You can choose between wide open desert mountain biking in Moab or lush verdant road biking in the Wasatch Mountains. The Tour of Utah, known as “America’s toughest tour,” takes place every year in August and features some of the world’s greatest biking talent. Many ski resorts including Park City and Sundance are open to mountain bikers in the summer and boast 100’s of trails.

Hiking

With the highest concentration of national parks in the nation it is no wonder that Utah features some of the world’s most scenic hikes. Zion National Park’s Angels Landing, one of the world’s most famous hikes, draws a myriad of visitors each year. Totaling more than 938 miles, a system of hiking trails known as Utah Trailways is located adjacent to Utah’s most populous region. This trailway will provide quick access to walking, biking, hiking, horseback riding and off-roading in the midst of varied and spectacular surroundings.

Fishing

Utah is best known for excellent trout fishing in several mountain lakes and streams. Other fish such as white bass, striped bass, largemouth, smallmouth, catfish, tiger muskie and several other species can also be found in abundance. For more information on fishing in Utah visit utah.com

With so much of Utah designated as public land administered for recreational use, and hundreds of miles of backcountry trails, great four-wheel drive or ATV terrain is never far away

Snowmobiling

The greatest snow on earth is not only reserved for skiers. Utah is a great destination for winter snowmobiling with over 800 miles of groomed trials across the state. For those who enjoy more rugged terrain, there are thousands of acres of high-mountain bowls that can be accessed from the groomed trails.
