Description:

This position is for an experienced technical product marketing professional. The selected candidate will be responsible to contribute to the Company’s strategic and tactical product roadmap, marketing plans, messaging and communications. Specifically, this person will research and understand with technical competence the company’s offerings as well as relevant competitive & partner offerings, developer community trends, and industry news and directions, then report on findings to the Executive Staff, marketing, development and community teams. This person will create or contribute to messaging materials for the Company website, product sheets, whitepapers and presentations. In addition to creating and contributing to messaging, the selected candidate will demonstrate the capabilities of Company products through the creation and presentation of demo applications in both internal and external briefings to large and small audiences.

The Product Marketing Manager reports to the Director, Product Marketing, and will work directly with a range of internal and external personnel, including the Executive Staff and peers within the marketing, development and community organizations. This person will serve as project team lead as assigned by the Director, Product Marketing.

 

Qualifications:

Technical Skills:
Demonstrated ability to research, understand and report on competitive and partner offerings.
Demonstrated ability to understand, refine, and communicate the elements, goals and messages of the Company and its offerings.
Demonstrated ability to create or co-create and then execute the marketing and communication plans for the introduction of new products or services, and new company strategies/positioning; the demonstrated ability to plan and execute a new company launch/debut is very strong plus.
Demonstrated ability to ensure messaging and marketing programs rise above competitive noise, positioning, and direct attack.
Demonstrated ability to think rapidly and creatively and then communicate effectively – in writing, and verbally in both small and large group scenarios.
Demonstrated track record of handling multiple projects with strong attention to detail, high energy and enthusiasm.
Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate with co-workers and partners, including subordinates, peers and executives.
Demonstrated ability to quickly and effectively assess and resolve problems under public pressure.
Demonstrated ability to create, manage and adhere to budget projections.
Demonstrated advanced skills in common desktop and web-based productivity software tools and programs.
Possesses a reputation as a self-starter and completes complex product marketing deliverables on time, and at or above expectation.
Is able to travel regularly and responsibly for the Company.
Speaks and writes English fluently at the college graduate level.

Professional Skills:
Minimum of 5 years marketing experience working in software development tools businesses.
Minimum of 2 years of management experience of both internal employees and external agencies and service providers.
Minimum of 2 years at a large corporation AND 2 years at an emerging start-up through high-growth organization.

Educational Skills:
Bachelor’s degree or extensive equivalent work experience across at least three core areas of marketing communications.
