MediConnect's online RapidRetrieve system and patented processes provide medical records for consumers and to the health and life insurance and legal industries quickly over the Internet in a secure and efficient manner.

Silicon Slopes: Can you tell us about your consumer initiative?

Amy Rees Anderson: We desire to give patients control and awareness of their health by giving them access to their medical records. Once we obtain their records for them, they have access 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Their records provide information about past and present prescriptions, procedures, diagnoses and potential allergic reactions, or the expense and discomfort of duplicated tests. This is beneficial in the event of an emergency when traveling or for selecting different providers. We provide their records in an electronic digitized format so they can save it to a USB keychain or keep them in a safe secure place.

Amy Rees Anderson: We are in the early stages of this initiative, but it is a very exciting area for us. We have a passion for helping change healthcare in the world for the good, and we feel that getting the information in the hands of the consumer is the first step toward making that happen.
